We have gone a little bit upmarket and we are feeling a little bit lar-de-dar as we head off to leafy Dulwich to catch up with old friends in new surroundings. These are friends we have not seen for five whole years, not since IJ was two.
She was not even walking then. She said very little, communicated using Makaton, needed weekly physiotherapy and a dark cloud hung over her future. And mine.
But how she has changed! And I really can't wait for them to see her now.
There will be a huge amount to catch up on and I am more than a little bit excited. It is five years since we left the south and it feels a little bit like going home.
Although something tells me IJ would like to be sitting on a plane.
Maybe next year.
