This year IJ went back to school in uniform kindly given to us by Trutex . And over the last couple of weeks we’ve been putting it through its paces.
The end result? I’m very impressed with it, IJ likes wearing it and her head teacher has even complimented her on how smart she looks.
The quality of the clothing is excellent, it washes well and the sizing is consistent throughout. Normally I have to buy different sizes for IJ to ensure each item of school uniform actually fits.
The only item that didn’t work so well for us was the blouse (as shown in the first photo), but only because you can’t wear a tie with it. We’d definitely investigate their range of shirts. IJ prefers cardigans to jumpers so I’d be happy to order them too.
The Trutex website doesn’t include any pricing and it doesn’t look as if you can order from it either. However it does link to a number of online retailers and there’s a facility to find locate your local store.
Trutex describes its schoolwear as ethically produced. The company is working towards the ‘Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code’. For me this is reassuring but it is actually what I would expect from a schoolwear retailer. All the major retailers I’ve previously bought schoolwear from also source their clothing ethically.
All in all I was impressed with the range and I will buy it again. It’s unfortunate we don’t have a stockiest in our home town but I do plan to look into finding an online supplier instead.
