You have my full sympathies, we are trying to do this too, kid's stuff is so hard to part with! But, I'm hoping less stuff means less tidying up :) Good luck with pastures new.

I'm with you here. Part of the reason I am so bad at decluttering is because I am sentimentally attached to all the kids' junk. I have to get my husband or AS boy to do it as they are brutal. Maybe I could hire them out as Rock Hard Declutterers.

I found that I schlepped a whole lot of stuff to the new place only to throw it out when I unpacked. Somethings that had been so important suddenly didn't have any place in the new appartment. Strange that.

I am terrible at letting go of things. Just before Christmas we had a good clear out, kept some bits but most to the charity shop.

Less clutter does feel more relaxed even I have to admit, and to be honest that is really saying something!!! xxx

The good thing though about the digital age though is that you can take pics of her with the stuff to remember long after they are gone. Even in an album (and def in a file on the computer) it takes up much less space.

Sad but you are starting another one!

I like the idea of less tidying up, and we could definitely do with some of that here! Good luck with your decluttering too. :)

I'm definitely getting over-sentimental about it all and imagining that I am throwing out part of my daughter's childhood instead of looking to the future and the next chapter. A little positive thinking is definitely needed here!

Rosie Scribble

Yes, it seems far more sensible to get rid of things we don't need now rather than lugging them all to somewhere new to find we have far too much. It just takes so long though!

Rosie Scribble

Thanks Ali. At the moment all the toys going to the charity shop are piled in a large heap, but I can imagine that it will be a lot more relaxing when they are gone and there's a clear space instead. xxx

Creating an online album is a great idea, and that involved far less tidying up! Thanks Susie.

Rosie Scribble

True. We're slightly in between one chapter and the next at the moment, but life does have a habit of moving forward doesn't it, so we'll keep going and see where we end up. Thanks Julia.
