When IJ told her school friends she was off to the Guinness World Records HQ to meet some real life record breakers and take a look behind the scenes, we’re pretty sure that the majority of them did not believe her.
Surely no-one could take a ride across London on the world’s fastest sofa and find themselves being photographed by amazed bystanders en route. There’s no way you’d meet the world’s largest rabbit and actually stroke it.
And no-one is going to believe we met the world’s fastest talker, held a giant Converse trainer and even attempted our own world record. So it’s probably best not to even mention the Bubbleologist and his incredible bubble display.
We needed to gather proof.
Jumping to reach the height of the world’s tallest living man and failing miserably.
One giant Converse trainer.
Comparing VIP passes.
A kids’ favourite – ancient dinosaur vomit. Moving on …
Attempting to break a world record.
Heading back to the station on the world’s fastest sofa. Genius.
A huge thank you to Damian, Craig and the team at the Guinness World Records who not only sent us the book shortly after its release but also gave us an incredible day out. They even paid our travel expenses to attend and sent us home with a goody bag. They are officially amazing.
That looks amazing.

It was Ellen, although I think my daughter's VIP pass has gone to her head slightly.

Thank you Kate. Absolutely brilliant day. Your son was a little star too! No doubt you'll now be touring the country as a World Record Breaker. Fame and fortune is yours for the taking!
