Lol. I find cute children work pretty well too.

Mother Bloggin Guilt

So that's where I've been going wrong! Haha! Funny post! X

ChocOrangeCityMum

I too go for the cute child angle!

But the cat made me smile and comment about it so I'd call that a success :)

Circles in the Sand

I just discovered your blog via my good friend nappy valley girl and I just had to send you a message to say I love it! I'll be checking you out regularly! Thanks for a great read. If u get a spare mo, come visit me at dubaiunveiled.wordpress.com

A couple of weeks ago I wrote a carefully thought-out blog post about education which has an average number of views and comments. A few days later, as part of Silent Sunday, I posted a photo of my dog Tess - it got 3 times as many comments and loads more views. So yes, I know exactly what you mean!

Debbie

My most popular blog post to date was one about whether 'kind regards' is worse or better than 'best regards', and what it means if you just put 'regards'.

Nothing to do with parenting or business at all. Perhaps I need to become a regular grammar pedant. And I'll illustrate them all with a cute fluffy animal, or a baby!

Emily O

Lol, funny what people read isn't it? The top three most popular posts of mine are all reviews. Maybe I should just put reviews on it and nothing else! Google Analytics actually fell off my blog and website last week. I checked the stats yesterday and it looked like no one had visited either since last Wed. Really strange, the code just 'fell off'. If I was a daily stat checker I would have been on it straight away but I only do it once or twice a week.

Expat Mum

Of course if you put a sex word or two in the tag field it also helps!!

northernmum

Can't stay and chat I am off to the zoo *grabs camera*

Midlife Singlemum

Oh no! I'm doomed as a blogger! I'm really not an animal person in any way, shape or form. I don't find animal pictures cute and I won't be posting any. On a brighter note - would my three readers (mum, dad, sister) like to come to dinner next Tuesday?

Rosie Scribble

Thanks so much. Nappy Valley Girl is fabulous. I'll come over and check out your blog!

Rosie Scribble

Ah-ha! I can see the logic there. I'm the sort of person who would google 'best regards' vs 'kind regards'. I would recommend a 'how to sign a business letter' post. Bound to bring in lots of readers. And a 'Yours sincerely' vs 'Yours faithfully' post. Plus a few parenting ones in the middle, obviously!

Rosie Scribble

Google is a funny one. Best not to argue with them though! I don't think anyone reads my reviews. I am going to take Expat Mum's advice and start putting the word 'sex' in the title. LOL!

Rosie Scribble

I knew I should have included the word sex in my blog URL. A missed opportunity there without doubt!!

Rosie Scribble

I'd go for the elephants if I were you :)

Rosie Scribble

It's okay. I'm not an animal person either but I'll still be reading your blog. And anyway, you can post sunshine pictures which are rare over here. :)

Rosie Scribble

I remember noticing your carefully thought-out blog post about education and was about to leave a suitable thought-out comment, then I spotted a lovely photo of Tess and completely forgot about it.

mummy mania

Ok. My cats are about to become internet stars!

Mayfair Mum

This is brilliant! More of the same please :-) with or without the furry animals and thanks for the tip. LOL

Nat

My biggest hit post is "Insect cakes" not using actual insects, but moulds. oh well :D

mummy@bodfortea

Apparently I'm an authority on banana cake... go figure. Love the elephant by the way. Cute :D

Rosie Scribble

It is definitely the way to go. Can I borrow them?!

Rosie Scribble

See. That reinforces my findings that people want to read posts about non-humans!

Rosie Scribble

*makes a note to incorporate banana cake into a post*
