IJ has recently decided that she wants to be a rock star when she grows up, which I am blaming on the arrival of a Paper Jamz guitar.
The Paper Jamz guitar is paper thin rather than being made of paper as I had originally thought. In fact the guitar, made of plastic, is very cleverly designed and uses Active graphics Technology which means the printed surface of the guitar reacts to the player’s skin. It has printed strings rather than real ones and by touching the surface the guitar reacts.
This is great for children and for people like me who have no idea how to play a real guitar. It is pre-programmed with three songs and offers four play modes including freestyle where you can experiment with over 30 chords and create your own rock songs, and karaoke where you can attempt to sing along to the tracks.
At RRP £24.99 the price is very reasonable. We haven’t really mastered any of the chords yet but we’ve both had hours of fun with it. There is also a very handy volume control. And the guitars are very lightweight so can be easily carried around, and transported to the homes of unsuspecting relatives if you fancy a bit of peace and quiet.
The Paper Jamz guitar range is available from Woowee.com for ages 8+. We received one free of charge to review and we highly recommend it.
We did a Paper Jamz review too and I think they're awesome. (So glad someone else admitted to thinking they were made out of paper!)
