It is never a good idea to send me products that will ‘treat me to an instant mood boost’ or enable me to ‘experience the scent of a country garden’ as I will take this literally and end up disappointed when I’m not feeling instantly more cheerful or transported off to a field of lavender.
That said, these new aromatic handwashes from Palmolive, available in Bergamot & Verbena and Lavender & Chamomile, are lovely to use and the vintage-style packaging certainly looks elegant. They would not be out of place in an upmarket guest house.
The Bergamot & Verbena variety, infused with zesty bergamot oil from Southern Italy and verbena extract, is ‘refreshing and aromatic’ designed to give you ‘an instant mood boost’.
The Lavender & Chamomile variety is ‘caring and aromatic’. Infused with soothing natural lavender oil from Provence and chamomile extract, it will enable you to ‘experience the scent of a country garden’.
The handwashes, priced at £1.99 each, certainly added a look of sophistication to our kitchen and bathroom. They are nice to use with an aroma that is subtle and not over-powering.
As for an instant mood boost and experiencing the scent of a country garden, I’d say no. But I’d still use them.
I was sent two handwashes free of charge to review. Further information can be found at www.colgate.co.uk.
Well Bergamot is up there as one of my favourite smells and I actually really like Palmolive as it's one of the few soaps that makes my skin feel really soft and healthy. So, I shall be looking out for a bottle of this next time I'm out shopping !! Cheers

So true. I'm always disappointed when I'm not transported to said country garden. My biggest disappointment was a Mother Revitalizing Oil - has to be said, I think I need more than some oil rubbed into my wrists to revitalise me!

Excellent choice! Bergamot was my favourite of the two.

Some marketing materials do seem a little hyped up don't they? I always like putting them to the test. I've tried a few products to look ten years younger, but alas.

You're right they are rather nice looking. I wasn't expecting a lot to be honest but I'll take your word for it that they smell as good as they look :D

Mmm, bergamot, that's an unusual but rather lovely scent for a handwash. I may get a couple of these but they'll be kept out of reach from my 3 boys who are liable to fire it at each other; or squirt the whole lot in the sink as some sort of 'experiment' like they did with poor Teenage Daughter's new Christmas smellies!

Typically I was distracted whilst writing my comment; Belle was breastfeeding and kicking my arm off the keyboard so I typed an incorrect URL!
