So I’m now on Facebook.
You would think that the decision to set up a personal Facebook profile would take a little thought, yet I managed to do exactly that simply by accidently clicking a button.
I did take time to consider the comments on my post: Facebook – am I missing out?, and made what seemed a sensible decision to set to a page for this blog rather than a personal account.
Having set up the bare bones of a Facebook page, I spotted this button: ‘Create your profile’. Eager to know what would happen I decided to click it. (I once dipped my finger in hot coffee following a similar line of thought.)
And that was how I accidently set up a personal Facebook profile.
A quick search around the Help Centre revealed that this could not be deleted without the work I had done on my page being removed as well.
As “I accidently set up a personal profile …’ seemed to be a frequently asked question, I am obviously not alone in doing this, which I take some comfort from.
By the end of the evening I had tripled my number of friends and been poked several times.
Some things are meant to be.
On this occasion, randomly clicking buttons on the internet has turned out to be a good thing.
You can come over and like me, if you like.
Guess I should say welcome to Facebook then!! I don't go on there very often, but it's a good source of information, especially if you're nosy like me!
