IJ (not her real name) has decided she wants to be called Grace (not her real name either, much to her annoyance).
The announcement that the name I chose for her at birth is not to her liking came this evening after a short burst of MTV to celebrate the end of term.
Me: Grace is a very pretty name. You can change your name when you're older if you like.
IJ/Grace: Actually I've changed my mind. I would like to be called Alice.
Me: That's a very pretty name too. Is it after Alice in Wonderland?
IJ/Alice: No. Alice Cooper.
We are three hours into the summer holidays. I sense it is going to be a long one.
Well, it could've been Ozzie! Or Slash!

Ha ha we have random conversations like that too - My little boy has a name that can be shortened so we asked him which version he would like to be called when he started school. He had a good think and then asked if he could be called Derek - A completely random name!

I can remember telling people my name was Anne. It was actually my middle name but without an 'e' which I never forgave my mum for!!
