I am never one to turn down a free pair of shoes. Yet, as all companies know (I hope), parent bloggers will always write a completely honest review of any product given to them.
At least, I will.
These shoes from hottershoes.com were far nicer than I had expected when I looked through their brochure. They are possibly the most comfortable pair of shoes I own, which is exactly as they are designed to be.
Their new 'Comfort Concept' technology is built into the sole of the shoe and injects millions of tiny air bubbles to make a very lightweight shoe. Their shoes also have a deep toe bed so that toes can move easily and flex out.
The problem?
Well there were no problems with this particular shoe, I really liked them, I expect I'll wear them all summer, when it arrives. However, they were the only design of shoes in the Hotter brochure that I actually liked.
Although the brochure features the shoes on thirty-something models, I felt they were not aimed at this target market. I walk several miles every day so I like comfortable shoes, but for me these were just not fashionable enough.
Then I went with IJ and Granny for a meal wearing my new Hotter shoes and discovered Granny also wearing a pair of Hotter shoes.
The downside to this is that Granny is in her sixties and I don't really want to be wearing the same style of shoes as my mother (sorry mum!).
The upside is that Granny was able to give her verdict on Hotter shoes based on many more years of buying experience than me.
So here's Granny's review,
"Hotter shoes are great, really comfortable and perfect when you are on your feet a lot. I've ben wearing them for years. A friend of mine always buys four pairs at a time because she loves them so much. I do think they are aimed at the over-fifties though dear, why have you been sent a pair?"
So there we have it. For the record, Granny's friend is also in her mid-sixties. So great shoes for that age bracket, but I'm not quite there yet.
I went through a period of wearing similiar clothes to my mum! (I'm, in my 40s, and she's in her 70s). I kinds of liked it, and I know she did!

I expect your mother is very fashionable, Susanna. I'm not saying mine isn't ofcourse, but our tastes our quite different. I expect they will merge in the not too distant future and we find ourselves wearing the same cardigan. Yikes!

I'm always poaching my mums shoes and clothes. She is way more glamourous than me. I like the look of these shoes too. Are they expensive?

Oh, I should probably have mentioned the price, will add that later. They are £55 which I thought was very good value for money given the quality of the shoe.

I didnt like any of their shoes either..... you've chosen the best ones, the others are grim IMHO!

So their marketing tag line should be 'shoes your granny would like'. Hmm - not really going to take off it is?!

ha ha ha, your mum is funny! Quite scary turning up in the same shoes as your mum though, huh?

Terrifying. In a word!

Does this mean I have to wait until I'm in my 60's before I can get a pair! I only wear comfy shoes like these and Hotter are excellent for comfort.
CJ xx

Not at all CJ. I'm 36 and I'm enjoying mine, so don't worry! Plus I can't imagine you coping on a farm without comfy shoes xx

Rosie I couldn't believe it when you told me your Mum was wearing them, but yours are actually quite cute. They look a bit converse.

Haha. It's good to see that I am not the only one who just can't do a straight forward review. Gotta love your mum :)

I wish there are were nice, fashionable comfortable shoes - I'm stuck with ballet pumps / my boots to commute in and then nice shoes once I'm in civilisation, for my Mummy life I am mostly wearing pumps or a pair of baseball boots - neither is ideal

Well, apparently we have an ageing population so it sounds to me like they're onto a bit of a winner.
