Yesterday after school, IJ threw a mini-tantrum because she was not allowed to eat a bar of chocolate while she waited for a dinner to cool down.
I was not impressed and told her so, but this did not seem to concern her. Instead she responded with:
"Is Santa watching me?"
I wasn't expecting that.
I told her that he was although I'm not sure if that was the correct response or not. I have to admit to feeling a bit guilty about giving the impression that she is being secretly watched. It didn't feel quite right somehow.
But it resulted in an improvement in her behaviour at least. I'm not sure why she has suddenly started thinking about Christmas, but this evening when I went to turn off her light, I discovered this:
She is planning her Christmas list already.
No doubt it will be ridiculously long.
Santa may have other ideas.
He is watching, you know.
I can assure you that santa will be watching for as long as they believe there is NO guilt about that :)

How cute! I love their little lists - however they spell them!

I so thought that list was going to start with chocolate.

I've used it with M already. I felt a bit bad too, then I got over it. ;D

I hope her behaviour improves then :-) LOL.
But Christmas ideas now? No, far too early for that.

I actually told Erin to behave herself 'Santa is watching' yesterday, I'm thinking I pulled that one out of the bag a bit early considering it's only September!

Wait until the toy catalogues start coming through the letterbox, she'll write that letter about a hundred times,
