There’s an unwritten rule in the blogosphere: never write a blog post when you are overtired.
Actually I’ve just made that up, there are no rules, but being overtired in my case never results in any sort of coherent thought and induces a tendency to ramble in a slightly inane manner. A bit like this.
We’re home after a fabulous family holiday in Yorkshire where the weather was kind, the location far better than expected and IJ played for many happy hours with her very charming three-year-old cousin.
We explored Bridlington and the surrounding areas and it’s a part of the world I would definitely visit again. Admittedly I was only there for a few days as IJ had headed off without me while I enjoyed a much needed rest and spot of shopping completed a number of work projects.
So now that we are home and we’ve had half a day to reflect on our trip, I’ve asked IJ what her lasting thoughts are. Whether it was the donkey ride on the beach, her dip in a very cold sea, the mini fun-fare where she insisted on going on every ride twice, or the opportunity to spend time with family in a large country house.
Her reply was succinct and to the point.
She wants a sister.
Special thanks to Sea-Band who made our journey a lot easier by providing us with some of their knitted elasticated wrist bands. They are a drug-free solution for travel sickness (and morning sickness) which work by applying pressure on the acupressure point on each wrist. I tried out the adult pair while IJ wore a pair from the kids range.
Thankfully after my concerns about a long journey, these proved to be the perfect solution. From now on we won’t travel anywhere without them.
