I had not realised, until today, just how stressful wedding preparations can be, and I'm not even the one getting married. All I had to do is turn up on the day, except I have to bring a 6-year-old with me and we have to travel to the Czech Republic.
The arrangements have been left in the hands of my very capable parents. I have to say that just in case the read this someday, or somebody who knows them does. They have made all the arrangements, booked and paid for the flights and the hotel and it has not cost me a penny. It's my brother's wedding that's why. And they are also very generous.
So with all the travel arrangements made I have relaxed, and then this weekend someone mentioned Stansted Airport.
No-one mentioned we were flying from Stansted.
No-one considered the fact that it's a three-hour car journey away and IJ can't even manage half an hour without feeling car sick.
So how do we do three hours?
So I moaned tutted and complained and made comments about things like 'lack of communication' and 'no-one ever telling me anything.'
I stamped my feet and resorted back to being a teenager in front on my parents because I was annoyed.
I now I feel incredibly spoilt and privileged because we are not spending three hours in a car travelling to Stansted, we are traveling down by train the night before and spending the night in the 4-star Raddison Hotel at the airport.
So the weekend has ended better than it started and the wedding preparations are back on track.
At least they were, until someone mentioned hand luggage, baggage allowances, on-line check-in and Ryan Air.
And so the stress continues...
