This year IJ went back to school in uniform kindly given to us by Trutex . And over the last couple of weeks we’ve been putting it through its paces.
The end result? I’m very impressed with it, IJ likes wearing it and her head teacher has even complimented her on how smart she looks.
The quality of the clothing is excellent, it washes well and the sizing is consistent throughout. Normally I have to buy different sizes for IJ to ensure each item of school uniform actually fits.
Over recent weeks we've graduated from the pink sparkly princess stage and we’ve now entered the Rock Chick stage, or at least IJ has, so she tells me.
Apparently this stage means embracing all things black and purple and using words like ‘random’ in conversation, rather randomly as it happens.
It also involves mimicking all things iCarly, which is a new addition to our weekly TV viewing.
It’s an interesting pre-teenage stage that takes a little getting used to and is guaranteed to leave any parent feeling slightly out of touch, but I quite like it. And it's nice to see a slightly more confident personality emerging in the little girl who previously wouldn't experiment with her hair or clothes.
When it comes to review posts I have no shame in admitting I have now recruited almost my entire family in testing out products.
To test our latest review product - the Kidcam from CCTV and surveillance vendor Storage Options - I recruited the newest addition to our family 11-month-old Baby T, his four-year-old sister and parents. They were given the product over the Christmas period and set to work trying it out.
I’ll be honest. I have my reservations about Facebook. For businesses I think it can be a great way of connecting with customers though Facebook pages, but for those of us with a personal profile I do have concerns about its frequently changing privacy settings. So while I use the site regularly, I do so with some caution.
The news that you can now watch films on Facebook did leave me wondering if this was really something I’d be comfortable doing. After all, I didn’t want every scene of the film to be posted on my Facebook wall, or the walls of my Facebook friends, and I’ve known some Facebook apps to take on a life of their own at times.
I spent many hours as a child trying to complete all six sides of a Rubik's cube, only to discover the only way I was ever going to do it was to dismantle the whole thing and try and put it back together again. Cheating, in other words.
Thankfully Rubik’s Race - the game version of the Rubik’s cube - is a lot easier, less frustrating and the pace of the game is substantially quicker.
