What you can’t see behind this shot is that we currently have no kitchen. It’s gone. It disappeared in a puff of smoke never to be seen again.
Or rather, the workmen currently working on our property have removed it. The puff of smoke was wishful thinking. It would have been a lot quieter and would not have demanded the presence of a large yellow skip on our drive, and endless supplies of hot tea, if it had indeed disappeared in an instant.
There will be a brand new kitchen installed over the next few days. In the meantime I’m imagining clean surfaces, dust-free floors and all things neat and tidy. It makes the scene in front of me slightly easier to cope with.
Our new Cath Kidson mugs will be the first items to go into our new kitchen cupboards. They’ve been sent to us by Palmers Department Store. The idea behind them is that when we move house in the summer, we’ll be able to impress our new neighbours. At the moment they are keeping me sane.
And no, I’m not allowing the builders anywhere near them. They are well and truly hidden.
Did I mention our bathroom is being taken out next week?
Many thanks to Palmers for sending over our new mugs free of charge for the purpose of this post. You can take a look at the Palmers Cath Kidson range on their website.
