Located between the post I wrote on Christmas Eve and the one I’m planning in the run-up to New Year, there should be a Christmas post. A post detailing our family Christmas with a full range of accompanying images.
Instead there is a very obvious gap.
Christmas has been left largely unmentioned with only the reference to a digital camera acknowledging that it even happened.
Well it did and it was great but at the moment IJ is recovering from a bout of food poisoning. It’s nothing serious but it has been unpleasant and it’s meant I’ve spent rather longer than normal offline, which is no bad thing.
The two if us are opening the toys and games she had to leave largely unlooked at, and we’re partying now as if it was Boxing Day, although it’s nearly New Year.
There has been an upside to all this though. Those hours spent sitting with her into the early hours have meant I could spend time with the second love of my life – my new Kindle.
Shocking really. No mother should ever admit to such a thing.
But it really is a little bit special. And yes, I really am reading Screw it, Let’s do it, by Richard Branson.
This time next year I’ll be a millionaire.
Which is nice.
