
The X Factor is a regular source of arguments on our house. It has nothing to do with any of the contestants* and everything to do with the fact that IJ wants to stay up late to watch it, although it airs well past her bedtime.
On the occasions when she has watched it, she has chosen to give a running commentary throughout the programme and attempted to sing over the acts. She also thinks she knows more than the judges, and I can’t have anyone speaking over Gary. Cough.

When IJ told her school friends she was off to the Guinness World Records HQ to meet some real life record breakers and take a look behind the scenes, we’re pretty sure that the majority of them did not believe her.
Surely no-one could take a ride across London on the world’s fastest sofa and find themselves being photographed by amazed bystanders en route. There’s no way you’d meet the world’s largest rabbit and actually stroke it.
And no-one is going to believe we met the world’s fastest talker, held a giant Converse trainer and even attempted our own world record. So it’s probably best not to even mention the Bubbleologist and his incredible bubble display.
We needed to gather proof.

Tesco Kids’ Book Club has recently launched a range of new story-telling videos on their site for kids aged 2-12. They are brilliantly read by leading actors Alison Steadman and Caroline Quentin and definitely worth a watch. We’ve had a sneak preview of some of the titles in the range and they look and sound great, and more stories will be appearing soon.
