Working Mum

We love games in our house. I will have to get this one for our holidays.

Have you tried "Acuity"? It's my latest purchase and we're addicted. "Set" is also a firm favourite, you can adapt the rules yourself for younger children and it really improves their visual perception and logic.

Rosie Scribble

I haven't heard of 'Acuity' or 'Set'. I'll go off and have a look for them. Thank you! We're looking for a few more for the holidays especially if the weather is as bad as it is at the moment :(

The benefit of Dobble is that it's small, unlike some games we have which take up half a suitcase!

susie@newdaynewlesson

Ummm-which ones are the same???? Off to hide in shame.

Rosie Scribble

Susie - you have to look very closely. Now you see why I keep losing this game!

Working Mum

Try happypuzzle.co.uk for Acuity and Set. I've bought loads of great games from there, they always seem to come up with something new and absolutely addictive! Great family owned company with super customer service. (No, this isn't a sponsored comment!)

Rosie Scribble

Thank you very much! Their website looks lovely. I'll take a look around. My daughter's 8th birthday is coming up and I'm running out of ideas.

(Had to laugh at your mention of sponsored comments. One day there probably will be such a thing!)

Metropolitan Mum

I can't possibly tell you how long it took me to find the first one...

Rosie Scribble

Met Mum, I know the answer to the first one and it still takes me a long time to spot it!

Erica

OMG, for the longest time I couldn't spot the first two. That's ridiculous. Erin would love it!

Rosie Scribble

Erica, I owe you ten minutes of your life back! Erin would definitely like it. You'll see now why I keep losing at this game.

mummy mania

Sounds good! I'm taking the girls to Donegal for a month so game planning is essential! Will add that to my list..

Rosie Scribble

A month? That's a long time. Yes, you'll need plenty of games. Hope the sunshines for you all.

susie@newdaynewlesson

ahhh-okay-different sizes are okay right?

Rosie Scribble

Yes, you've got it. Different sizes are okay as long as it's the same symbol. Hope you haven't lost too much time to this!!

Tania @ Larger Family Life

I took far longer trying to work those out than I should probably admit to.

Lorraine The Party Times

looks fun - will have to get for my son - might encourage us to play more games as a family instead of him playing on his wretched DSi!!

Rosie Scribble

I don't think you're the only one!

Rosie Scribble

Ha! I have exactly the same problem with Nintendo! Look: http://rosiescribble.typepad.com/rosie-scribble/2010/12/conversation-killer.html

I think a comment just got lost. Was just saying that this is a top seller in the toy shop, and I often recommend it to customers. So simple but a lot of fun for a wide range of ages.
