Night after night, for the past week, one activity has dominated our household.
The two of us have become a little bit addicted to it.
More than a little in fact and it has kept us up into the early hours.
Well not perhaps that late, but you get the picture: it’s good. In fact, it’s even better than that.
It’s a new card game for kids called Ratuki and we absolutely love it.
The idea behind the game is simple – the first to complete a run of 1,2,3,4 and 5 wins.
Each card features different number displays, including Roman numerals, numbers and dice, and the first player to complete their run shouts “Ratuki!”
It’s a fast-paced game and one my daughter has tried with little success to cheat at. The first player to get rid of all their cards and collect the most runs of five wins.
We’re not competitive in our house *ahem* and we don’t keep score but out of 20 games I have won a total of 16.
Just saying.
Ratuki is available from Hasbro Card Games priced £7.99 for age 8+. We were given a pack free of charge to review but it’s a game I’d be very happy to buy.

Glad it's not just me who doesn't let their children 'win' at games. Sounds good too.

She has started sulking now if she doesn't win, but I'm still not giving in ;)

Ooh, has it been on TV? I'll have to look out for it. I rarely watch TV *cough* *nose grows*

Will have to go get one this weekend - bound to be a "competitive" (did I say that!) hit within our house!

I'm really looking forward to my children being older so I can play games like this with them. But I don't want to wish time away so it's something to look forward to. Looks like a good game!

We seemed to have developed a 'Play to Win' attitude in our house!! We are also bad losers!

You're right - don't wish the time away. It'll be here before you know it. I've had to play many games with my daughter that seem to go on forever and which I haven't particularly enjoyed playing, so it's a relief to have found one I enjoy too!
