Always inspirational Karen Cannard, of The Rubbish Diet fame, has invited me to be part of another project she is promoting: Pledge ASAP – As Sustainably as Possible.
Pledge ASAP is the inspiration of Shirley Lewis, an environmental film-maker aka Baglady. Shirley lives in Northern Ireland and is aiming to raise the profile of sustainable action within schools, communities and in parliament.
This is the second round of Shirley’s ASAP endeavour (you can read about the first part here) and I’m delighted to be part of a secret launch to promote it before it’s official launch on 11th January 2011.
Pledge ASAP brings together schools, politicians, businesses, media – the whole community, to do something simple and real to help save the world before it's too late.
The idea is to make a pledge over on Baglady's website to take up one thing that's sustainable and give up something that isn't. The aim is to collect as many pledges as possible to take to the Northern Ireland Assembly in June.
By signing up and adding your voice, you will be helping to spread your own inspiration.
Our pledge is to stop leaving lights on around the house and to remember to take our own bags to the supermarket.
If you would like to take part simply copy the Baglady badge, head over to her site to make your pledge, and then write about it on you blog to encourage others to take part.
Let's see how far the Baglady can travel.
