As IJ got Toy Story 3 on DVD this Christmas, Buzz Lightyear has been a very prominent figure in our house over the last week or so. So imagine our excitement when a parcel arrived on our doorstep from Firebox.com containing Lego Construct-a-Buzz as well as the Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Game.
We’ve had great fun with both toys, although I wasn’t allowed near Buzz Lightyear - IJ decided she was going to construct him all by herself, which she did in the space of a few hours. I would include a photo of the finished version here but I have since trodden on him, much to her annoyance. He was quickly mended, just for the record.
We were sent two boxes of Lego Construct-a-Buzz RRP £19.99, so I’m giving one away.
Construct-a-Buzz has 211 pieces and once assembled results in a posable 18cm Lego figure with a retractable helmet, flick launching laser canon and a movable winged jetpack. He also comes with a small alien companion to keep him company.
The box says that it is aimed at children aged 7-14. IJ, at the lower end of this scale, had no problem putting it together with no assistance from me, and it’s the first Lego toy she has been able to do this with, so I think children younger than 7 years could enjoy it too. Teenagers may find the product less of a challenge and less appealing for that reason.
We’d certainly recommend it. I’ve always been impressed by the creativity of the team at Lego, and this, once again, is brilliant.
