Last night, for reasons unknown, I decided it would be a really good idea to put a tent up in our back garden. So, going with the flow, we brought the tent down, laid out all the equipment on the grass and then for a further five minutes I messed about with pegs and poles pretending to know what I was doing.
But I didn't know what I was doing so I promptly gave me, cursing the damn thing under my breath.
Nothing more was said about my poor assembly skills until this morning when IJ pointed out that I had given up too quickly. She said, sounding far wiser than her years, that you should never give up, you should always keep going and try again even if you don't get it right the first time.
Suffice to say, we now have a tent sitting in our back garden.
And I actually feel quite proud of us both. A lesson learnt, certainly for me.
