Recently we received a Fortnum and Mason's children's hamper from Laura and Katy at Little Stuff. We won it in a competition on Twitter, I'm not exactly sure how but decided it best not to query it and wilfully accepted our fabulous prize when it arrived.
The postman handed it over with a slightly surprised yet impressed look on his face which seemed to be saying: "Is this really for you?"
I glared back with an expression that I hoped communicated: "Of course, we regularly receive deliveries from London, Piccadilly and we do all our food shopping in Harrods."
I haven't been asked to blog about it or link to Little Stuff but I wanted to because it was a fabulous gift to receive. I have enjoyed eating the contents. IJ has enjoyed it in a sightly different way.
So what does a six-year-old do with a hamper full of luxurious, exquisite and expensive sweets, chocolate, toffees, biscuits and jam.
Here's what:
1) Open the hamper, admire the contents, then eat all the chocolate coins before anyone notices.
2) Use the packaging to create an in-door snow scene.
3) Add a glove to the hamper to enhance the wintry scene.
4) Cover the entire living room with white paper to create a footpath leading to the aforementioned snow scene.
4) Confuse friends by announcing with great excitement, "We have a new hamster!"
5) Let mummy devour the contents of the hamper (not hamster!)
Result!
Proof also that all kids really need is the packaging, and a few chocolate coins.
