Let's get straight to the point here.
Our children are lucky.
Christmas for most children is a magical time of year. It is certainly a time my own daughter looks forward to all year. She gets far too many presents, she eats too many selection boxes and all-in-all she has a really great time.
But not all children do.
Last year, Childline - a service provided by the NSPCC - counselled over 3,500 children over the 12 days of festive cheer who were in danger or distress and had nowhere else to turn.
And I would imagine that figure is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the total number of children who need support, advice and protection.
The NSPCC are launching their annual Christmas 'Letters to Santa' fundraising campaign to help support these children.
There are a number of different ways we can help.
We can nominate someone we love to receive a magical letter from Santa for a suggested donation of £5.
We can design and send a charity Christmas ecard.
We can encourage businesses we are involved with to send a corporate ecard.
Or we can give a donation.
Christmas is not magical for everyone, but by supporting the NSPCC we can help make a small difference to a lot of children who are not as blessed as our own.
Thank you.
