At school today, IJ's class took part in a discussion about the Easter holidays, she has informed me.
Her teacher, Mr D, went round the group asking everyone in turn what they had done with their time.
So after school I asked IJ what her teacher had done. Surely he had joined in the discussion too, so I was interested to hear what he had been doing while having a break from his class of 30 five-year-olds.
"He waited." IJ told me.
"He waited?" I asked.
"Yes, he waited in the classroom for all his children to come back." She explained.
"Did he really?" I laughed.
"Yes," she said seriously, "he was waiting a very long time."
Obviously!
