Solving the problems of the world is not best done at 4 o'clock in the morning, I have discovered. Nor is it advisable to switch on the computer, log on to the Internet and start browsing, especially when when there are on line shops permanently open and ready to take my credit card. And of course in the virtual world there is no one there to comment that I look half asleep and ask me if I really want to be buying this now?
There should be some sort of all-singing-all-dancing alert you can add to your computer that is activated when purchases are made during certain hours of the day, or emails sent when a clearer head and more intelligent thought-processes are needed.
Maybe I should set up some sort of text messaging service that sends a message to my bank manager every time I make a purchase. Or worse still - my dad.
This morning in the early hours, when logical thought escaped me, I bought a book on Amazon although I already have five on my book shelf waiting to be read, a Rhianna DVD that I really don't need and I have all her singles anyway, and some (more) toys for my niece's first birthday. In total I spent over £60. I was half asleep.
And, unbelievably, I nearly bought this:
But I have a computer - I'm using it - doh!
I'd also like one of these:
Remind me to un-check the box that says 'Store card details for next visit?' because that makes shopping on line in the early hours all too easy.
