Recently I have noticed that I am becoming increasingly grumpy, and it's something that seems to becoming worse with age.
It isn't just that I'm becoming less patient; I've started to hear myself commenting out loud about the state of the world in a style that previously I only heard from my grandparents. Even my own parents don't seem to whinge like I do.
Today, on the school run, I commented on two young boys I saw walking to school eating crisps (that's hardly healthy, the poor teachers, they don't stand a chance). I tutted at a man I saw spitting in the street (disgusting) and another who ran with his children across the road before the green man had lit up (that's dangerous and won't teach them the Green Cross Code).
I also tutted when I saw a girl who attends the same secondary school that once did wearing a thigh-length skirt and had pink hair (in my day neither of those would have been allowed, what's happened to uniform standards?)
I may need to join the team of the Grumpy Old Women because I am rapidly turning into one.

Lol, thanks for making me smile. I think I will have to join you.
Last week I found myself telling a man he would catch a cold from going around in only a t-shirt and then a few weeks back I was moaning about the loud music in a clothes shop.

Nothing wrong with a bit of grumpy.
Have you started saying "in my day . . . " yet? That's the rocky slope you don't want to get on just yet!

Oooh, have you reached the stage when you start to speak and hear your mother's voice? I use some of the same phrases my Mum used, quite unwittingly sometimes. Or the classic "When I was your age...."
I sympathise.

I love Grumpy Old Women, however I'm the one who "writes in" about everything. Mind you, in my time I have received serious rebates on services not rendered, coupons for movie rentals and extra special service just for writing a letter to a boss somewhere!

I constantly tut. About cars parked on pavements. About 'youth' drinking in the park and leaving broken glass. About people walking along smoking while pushing buggies. About people not smiling at cute children. About tiny children being given bags of sweets... I could go on and on. I think becoming a mum makes us a tad grumpy, to be honest.

I've been grumpy all my life so age doesn't make any difference. What's bad with me now is that sometimes I forget to moan...Ciao. A.

Being grumpy can be fun! However it is when you realise that EVERYTHING can make you grumpy (your coffee is the wrong temperature, you have to go out, get up, talk to people etc etc) that you need to worry. Having said that I think there is a difference between having standards and being grumpy!! You just have standards!

With you all the way on all of those!

Very funny. Yes, unfortunately I am turning in to my Mother. Aaarghh! My husband will not be pleased. My elder daughter did something naughty the other day (can't now remember what it was) but she said 'Edie (younger daughter) made me do it Mummy'. And I heard myself saying 'If Edie had told you to put your head in an oven would yos have done it too?' She's only 4. I think she thought I was crazy...
